Chen & Chang’s Partner, Helena Chen, Spoke at the 2025 Arbitration Practice Conference on “Proper Notice of Arbitration Proceedings”

On 19 September 2025, the Judicial Yuan and the Chinese Arbitration Association, Taipei (CAA) co-organized the Arbitration Practice Conference. Our partner, Helena Chen, delivered a speech titled “Proper Notice of Arbitration Proceedings,” in which she distinguished the notion of “Proper Notice of Arbitration Proceedings” from “Service of Process” under the Taiwan Code of Civil Procedure, by reference to legal frameworks as well as judicial precedents in various jurisdictions. She further referred to Taiwanese court precedents on the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and proposed relevant amendments to the Taiwan Arbitration Act.
