On 30 July 2021, the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China released a revised Arbitration Law of the People’s Republic of China (Revised Draft) for public consultation. Subsequently, revised drafts of the Arbitration Law were submitted to the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress ( “the Standing Committee”) for the first reading on 4 November 2024, for the second reading on 27 April 2025 and for the third reading on 8 September 2025. The Standing Committee voted to adopt a revised Arbitration Law on 12 September 2025, which will take effect on 1 March 2026.
“Master Chang for Taiwanese Businessmen” shortly invited our partner, Helena Chen, to deliver a keynote speech on the Key Amendments to the PRC Arbitration Law on 25 September 2025. Helena shared her observations from a macro perspective and also provided an in-depth analysis of the amendments. In addition, she generously offered the information as well as the latest industry updates she received from her participation in the China Arbitration Week events last week. All the attendees found the lecture and follow-up discussions highly informative, insightful and rewarding.
