Chen & Chang’s Partner Helena Chen Invited as Expert Speaker at the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy in Asia
The ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy in Asia is the most advanced-level training programme offered by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), comprising eight workshops organized in four Asian cities, for experienced senior and upper mid-level arbitration practitioners. The co-chairs and expert speakers are leading authorities in international arbitration.
For the 2025-26 cohort, over 40 participants were selected from over 100 applicants, underscoring the programme’s high professional standards, strong appeal and widespread recognition across the international arbitration community.
The final two workshops of the 2026 cohort, entitled “Deliberations and Deciding” and “Drafting Award and Scrutiny”, were held in Hong Kong on 14 and 15 October 2026. Helena was honoured to be invited once again to serve as an expert speaker. Helena shared her practical experience in conducting arbitration proceedings in Chinese, English and bilingually, as well as participating in deliberations with fellow tribunal members. She also shared valuable insights from her experience scrutinising arbitral awards in her capacity as a Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. The workshops also provided a valuable opportunity for Helena to exchange practical insights and engage in meaningful discussions with arbitration practitioners from across Asia, fostering mutual learning and the exchange of perspective.
