Chen & Chang’s Partner Helena Chen Spoke at an English Conference titled “It Is a Matter of Choice and Choice Matters”

Chen & Chang’s partner, Helena Chen, served as a panelist at an English conference titled “It Is a Matter of Choice and Choice Matters” on 30 October 2026. Together with experts from Singapore and Taiwan, she examined the strategic considerations involved in selecting arbitral institutions and seats of arbitration. The panel explored the features of various arbitral seats, including Singapore, Hong Kong, London and Geneva, and compared the arbitration rules and competitive advantages of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Swiss Arbitration Centre.

Helena emphasized that making the most appropriate informed choices based on a sound understanding of the relevant issues is one of the key winning strategies in international arbitration. In addition to the selection of the arbitral seat, arbitral institution, and applicable arbitration rules, the choice of arbitrators is also critical.
