On 31 October 2025, Chen & Chang’s partner, Alison Chang, was invited to moderate the Conference on “International Arbitration Costs: Practical Perspectives and Insights” co-hosted by the Taiwan Bar Association and Chinese Arbitration Association, Taipei (CAA) during the Taiwan Arbitration Week. Under Alison’s smooth moderation, the speakers shared their extensive practical experience in international arbitration on the following topics:
💰 What are the components of arbitration costs? How are arbitration costs allocated between the parties? What are the principles for such allocation?
💰 Fee mechanisms adopted by major arbitral institutions: do they influence parties’ choice of an institution? Security for costs.
💰 Are deposits or advance payment required for set-offs? Whether fees may be refunded upon partial withdrawal of claims?
💰Third-party funding.
